13th of September, 2011 Tuesday
It was a week of
hectic shopping for Mooncake at the hypermarket or Mooncake stalls. You
can see all the people was going for those colourful Mooncake. There are
more and more variety to choose from. With egg yoke, double egg yoke,
coffee, latte, green tea, walnut flavor. You just can't list all of them
out, every year new flavor. I too, walk pass those stalls but i just
observe the price. Each pieces are around Rm15-RM20. For once a year,
maybe its worth the price. All those boxes, packaging was nice. But i
myself personally doesn't like to eat mooncake so much. Sometimes it is
just too sticky and too sweet. I still love those traditionally made,
normal ones without so much flavor.
Last
night, 12th of September 2011. You could see a lot of party going off.
Celebrating MidAutumn Mooncake Festival. And alot of event around the
town. I still remember when small, we keep write essay about this
festival. There will be lantern, quiz, food and alot of things to write
about. But i never join those event. My company got organize an event
but i skipped it. Looking up at the sky last night, we can't see clearly
the moon but slowly the cloud disperse. There comes our beautiful Moon
of the Year. Bright and round.
There was a story for
this festival. Where a goddess name "Chang Er" was in love with a god
"Hou Yu"but her lover killed too many people and she decided to stay at
the moon and never come back. There at the moon, she met a woodcutter
name "Wu Kang". And they live together. Those were summary i remembered
in my mind. Full details can be search at GOOGLE. So guys and girls,
keep an eye on the moon. Maybe one year you will spot them on the moon.
Chinese traditional story is really interesting.
Talking
about Mooncake, Stories, comes after that is Lantern. You just can't
miss out on this activity. Group of people carrying around lantern
brightening up the roads. Lantern has evolve from normal and plain paper
lantern to nice plastic lanterns. Now we even have the famous Angry
Bird style lantern. Haha, it makes me smile when i see one. We would
play with the candles and accidentally get those lantern burnt up....
oops there goes our 50cent lantern. I have not been holding lantern for 3
years already.
Now it is easy to wish people, as you
can see at Facebook. There is a lot of wishes going on circulating on
the net. Even got drawings, video clip and animation. Its just becoming
easier and easier. Forward message has become lesser and lesser by the
year. So that all to conclude this year's MidAutumn Festival. Until next
year.
P.S.
I missed another chance to held lantern together with you.
Still hoping it would come true next year.
